About Us
Foundation for Empowerment and Human Rights Promotion (FEHRP) is a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit making \ Organization which was established in May 1999 and was incorporated in May 2010 because of series of ethnic/religious unrest in Nigeria.

The mission of the Foundation is to significantly impact the development of youth globally through cultural enrichment programs that increase their perspective, awareness, and appreciation for others and to improve the living standard of the youth, plus promoting peace and human rights goals in the society through empowering the youth as to become active partners in development rather than "be the problem".

Also, to educate youths in human rights so they become advocates for tolerance and peace.

Children are the future. They need to know their human rights and know that they must take responsibility to protect themselves and their peers. As they become aware and active in this cause, the message travels far and wide, and someday universal human rights will be a fact, not just an idealistic dream.

“We are here because we know that literacy is the key to unlocking the cage of human misery; the key to delivering the potential of every human being; the key to opening up a future of freedom and hope. We are here to open a decade that must translate that hope into reality.”

—Kofi Annan,
Former Secretary-General, United Nations

"Human rights education is much more than a lesson in schools or a theme for a day; it is a process to equip people with the tools they need to live lives of security and dignity. On this International Human Rights Day, let us continue to work together to develop and nurture in future generations a culture of human rights, to promote freedom, security and peace in all nations."

—Kofi Annan,
Former Secretary-General, United Nations

It has long been recognized that an essential element in protecting human rights was a widespread knowledge among the population of what their rights are and how they can be defended.

—Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Sixth UN Secretary-General
